"Wonder Washer is a Wonderful Item" 2009-11-24
By Donna J. Hagen (Donna, Tx. USA)
The Wonder Washer is a great item. I am in a motor home and use it often to stay caught up on my laundry. It works well, cleans my laundry very well. I also have the extractor from Wonder Wash to complete the set. I really enjoy the convenience of using them in a small space and being able to store them conveniently. They are well worth the price offered. I recommend both items. D. Hagen

 "Very satisfied" 2009-11-23
By Serendipity
Other reviewers have stated that they use this for baby clothes, or a few tank tops. But I have it in my RV, and am amazed at how much it handles. I can easily do a pair of jeans, a couple of tops, and 2 days worth of underwear in one load.

Also, I don't have any problem draining the water from the top, as some people have mentioned. The top locks on, but I support it with one hand as I tip the washer to drain and it works just fine.

I fill it back up with cold water and run it again for about 3 minutes to rinse, then slightly squeeze out the water as I place my clothes in the Laundry Alternative Centrifugal Spin Dryer that I bought to go with it.

All said, it's not much more trouble than an a regular washer, and stores in less space than a 5 gal bucket.

I'm very satisfied with it, and with the dryer.

This machine only worked for a few months. It does clean your clothes, but you have to dump the tub yourself each time. It's not as convenient as I thought it would be. Mine is now in the garbage. I would not recommend this to anyone.

"Good at what it does!" 2009-10-12
By Deborah Verlen (Park Ridge, IL USA)
After reading both the pro and con reviews, I decided to purchase the Wonder Washer. I wanted something to wash delicates and some other pieces, but ended up finding other uses for it too.

It does what it says it does. I don't find it excessively noisy or hard to use as many of the one star reviewers did. I expected to have to drain the apparatus and hand rinse the items I washed. As a few other reviewers noted, the lid is flimsy so you have to be careful not to break it. Some of the problems the lower starred reviewers had was with water leaking or spilling. I did find you had to be careful not to overfill the tub or else water did splash out--and that means overfill with items or with water.

I also found another use for the Wonder Washer aside from washing clothes. It does a good job of washing rattles, plastic toys and the like. I put them in, fill the Wonder Washer with water and add a small amount of either bleach (if the toys have been used for playing in the dirt) or dish washing soap and set the timer and let it roll. Some of the dirtier toys still need a swipe with the sponge, but for the most part they are cleaned and ready for another round of rough play.

The Wonder Washer also does a great job washing my dog collars and leashes (non-leather ones). Again, I just put them in, fill, add a little soap and away they swish. I've also soaked and agitated the birds' food and water dishes in hot water and the fish decorations from the tank. I haven't used soap with these as it would be toxic to the animals if I missed any in the rinse. I don't use the dishwasher much, so the Wonder Washer is a good stop gap between dish washes with the above items!

So basically with the exception of the flimsy top, I've been very pleased with my Wonder Washer.

"Perfect for a small apartment - have owned for 6 months now" 2009-12-30
By pfinbrooklyn
I purchased this dryer 6 months ago to fit in a small NYC city apartment that does not have a 220 volt line that you would need for a full size dryer. Based on a couple other reviewer's recommendations, I purchased it along with a separate clothes spin dryer that cost $150 including delivery. I use the spin dryer prior to putting the clothes in the Haier dryer -- 3 minutes of use and it removes a huge amount of water and allows me to dry a full load of heavy fabrics in the Haier in no more than 45 minutes. Lighter loads take 30 minutes tops. That's great performance out of a 110 volt dryer and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

A few caveats about this dryer following 6 months of use:

1. You MUST clean the two-piece lint filter after no more than two loads. If you don't, it cuts the heat of the dryer by at least 50%, and given that this machine is only operating on 110volts, it will take far, far longer to dry if you don't. I discovered this after I used it a few times and found it wasn't exhausting anywhere as near as hot as when I first used it. After some troubleshooting I realized the problem was due to only cleaning one of the filters. There are two separate filters that are attached to each other by a plastic disk. One of the filters is hard to clean and after a bit of frustration trying to clean it by hand and with a brush, I discovered that using a small hand vacuum very quickly cleans it. Now it just takes me a second.

2. It isn't as large as a full size dryer so if you are thinking about using it for more than 2 people, I would check around with other reviewers who are using it for a family to make sure it's practical for your needs.

3. There's a big difference between using a 110 volt and 220 volt dryer and I would strongly recommend buying an additional clothes spinner dryer along with this unit. (no, I'm not a shill for the manufacturer.) I would bet the savings on electricity will more than pay for the $150 cost in a short time, and the additional unit is small (@ 2' tall X 13" in diameter) so I am able to tuck it away under my bed. I haven't used this dryer without the clothes spinner, but based on a couple reviewers frustrations with long dry times, I'm guessing I wouldn't be as happy with this product without it. (There is only one company in the US that sells it but I guess for whatever reason Amazon doesn't want us posting other product links. If you google "clothes spin dryer" this product will pop at the top of search results.)

All-in-all really happy with this product and works perfectly for my needs.

"Heed the Haier warning - they will let you down" 2009-09-26
By Harvey Stark (Princeton, NJ)
The dryer is fine, but beware if something breaks. Our dryer has been broken since February (just a year shy of when we bought it). The factory recommended repair company came to our apartment several times to install a seemingly simple belt replacement, but Haier kept sending the wrong part - we even sent them a photograph of the broken belt and to no avail. When it was finally determined that it was the wrong part (THREE TIMES) Haier finally decided that they would send us a refund for the entire dryer. That was in June. This is now the end of September and we are still waiting.

 "Disappointing performance" 2009-07-19
By Joel Slaven
This dryer was everything we expected for 6 weeks. At that point it died. Haier sent out a repairman promptly, and the problem was a burned out circuit board. He said he would order the part. After waiting 3 weeks without hearing anything, we again called Haier and were informed that the part was no longer available. We were told that they were going to try to find the part somewhere. Another week has gone by with no reply.

I think the best I can hope for at this point is that they will send us a new one or a refund. I certainly won't buy this brand again.

 "Great Portable Dryer" 2009-06-20
By V. CHAN (Vallejo)
I live in an apartment with a closet designed for a stacked washer/dryer unit which I did not want to buy. Instead I got a full size top loading Admiral washer from Home Depot for $260 and this portable dryer for about the same price. I installed the smaller dryer on a large shelf above the washing machine. I hang dry most of my clothes but I needed a dryer to supplement my hang drying. Cleaning the lint takes 30 seconds but it does remove the lint well. It takes 3 times longer to dry a full size wash load due to the 120 volts and smaller size. I have to divide my full size wash load into 3 parts. If this bothers you...then you need a full size dryer. The controls are intuitive and I can't think of a single complaint. This is a 5 star product as long as you understand it's limitations. I love it because I don't have to visit the laundry mat and I don't have to buy an expensive and problem-prone stacked washer/dryer system.

"Finally, a small dryer to go with the Haier small washers!" 2009-03-02
By Ron Roberts (Madison, WI USA)
I sell appliances for a living, so I know quite a lot about them. I bought one of the first little Haier washers 6 years ago, and ever since, I wished there was a matching dryer. Since my washer has held up so well all this time (never a problem and I use it LOTS), I decided to buy this dryer right away once I discovered it. I've had it about a month.

Let me tell you about dryers: Get the biggest one you have space for, same as for washers. and you'll be happier. I move often and I tend to rent small places, so this is the only one to consider; It's either this or drying racks! All the other portables currantly out there are bigger and more cumbersome than this one. This one truly is portable in that I can pick it up and carry it easily. But, it will not hold as many clothes as the bigger ones. It is, however, perfect for the little Haier washers.

If you want faster drying times, be prepared to have a 220v or gas line installed. (Your landlord will go for that, sure!) Otherwise, 120v portable dryers are going to take, on average, 90 minutes per load. The flip side of this is that you can operate it almost ANYWHERE, and your landlord doesn't even need to know you have it!

120v dryers also do not have to be vented outside. They do not produce nearly the lint of larger dryers. You can if you want.

Tinier dryers may produce an extra wrinkle or two over largers ones. They don't have as much room for tumbling, so, be sure not to overload this one. That will also affect drying time. No dryer should be filled more than half full of wet clothes, unless you like ironing out wrinkles.

I ordered this from Amazon, thinking that I was getting the one with the window and the dial. Instead, I got the one with the electronic controls, which is the nicer one. I'm not sure the window/dial version is available anymore. This has all electronic controls with many little lights. Very hi-tek! It has a sensor dry feature that is usually accurate. Sometimes, I'll need to add some manual dry time afterwards, especially if I've mixed lightweight with heavier weight fabrics, as that throws the sensor off a little. Of course, keeping like-weight clothes together would be better.

There are 3 auto-dry cyles: Normal, Heavy, and Delicate. Use Heavy for Jeans and Towels. I'm not sure when I'll ever use Delicate, as 120v dryers only dry on low heat! That is why they take longer to dry. I believe that cycle uses an even lower heat. There is also timed dry available. Drying status lights (drying, cooling, done, and check lint filter) are helpful. It has an end-of-cycle signal. It does not have a drying rack, as some descriptions on the web have stated.

This, like my little washer, is surprisingly well-built! It has a metal body (I was expecting plastic). I think it will last a long time, hassle-free, just like my washer has.

My only real complaint is the lint filter. It seems fragile and it is the most bothersome one I've ever had to clean! There are two filters nested together, one fine and the other course, and both have to be cleaned. It is located on the back of the drum and doesn't pull off that easily. I imagine this is necessary, though, because of the dryer's small size. I wish Haier would have made a stronger, more convenient filter. THIS IS THE ONLY REASON I AM GIVING THIS DRYER FOUR INSTEAD OF FIVE STARS.

Overall, if space and portability are your chief concerns, Haier's small washers and this dryer are very, very good! I highly recommend them. However, if you have more space, and stay put for many years, get something bigger.

"Two-month ordeal trying to get parts" 2008-11-29
By Jigsy (Ontario, CA USA)
Haier has a problem knowing one thing from another. First they shipped me a beer dispenser! I refused delivery, and eventually got the washer. It does have an outward dent in the front, par for the course, apparently.

It also has a leak. I called Haier and they immediately set up a visit from a local repair shop. Very pleased so far. The problem is in getting parts. Linda, the parts lady for the repair people, has been very diligent, but the large distributors they usually rely on don't carry Haier parts, so you have to order from Haier, which is like breaking into Fort Knox.

This saga started September 24, 2008, and finally on November 23, after contacting a Haier field supervisor for this region, Linda got the parts.

Only problem is they didn't send all the right ones. The one thing she mentioned was that instead of a rubber grommet they sent a screw! First a beer dispenser, then a screw. Is there a message there?

She's sending the repairman to do what he can and assess the further leaks it's developed, as I've used it (and mopped up) several times while waiting. Then she's going to call the field superintendent and tell him he needs to give me a new machine. I was going to call Haier and demand one, because I've wasted three months overall on this project, but I kept thinking she could get the parts.

However, having said all that, I like the machine itself if I can ever get one that doesn't flood me out. It will serve my purposes just fine.

 "I hate laundromats" 2008-11-09
By Expectant Mom (San Francisco, CA)
But I've been enduring them for the past 9 years thanks to no laundry in my apartment building. However, with our first baby on the way, we finally decided we needed to try to find some solution so we wouldn't have to make daily trips to the laundromat.

As others have said, dings are pretty much par for the course thanks to the packaging inadequacies of the product. Ours arrived with a couple on the outside, and there was also a mystery plastic part that was in several pieces -- we had no idea what it was or what its functionality was, but since we'd already lugged this thing into the car from my husband's office and then dragged it up the flight of stairs to our apartment (not that the nine-months pregnant woman was much help), we figured it was worth trying out first to see if it worked.

Setup was fairly easy to figure out -- we swapped in the casters and then screwed on the bottom pan (thanks to those who warned about putting it in the right way, as my husband was about to screw it on the wrong way). We've also got a single faucet sink rather than separate connections for hot and cold, but instead of buying the Y connector, we just hooked up a hose to the cold section on the recommendation of another reviewer. One word of warning on this -- be sure you hook the hose up to the cold output and then be sure you're always running cold/cold cycles if you do this. We initially had it on the hot input and then realized no water was getting into the washer.

Once we got that stuff figured out, we did a short cycle with low water as a test run to make sure that the broken (and therefore non-functioning) mystery plastic parts weren't going to cause crazy leaks or malfunctions with their absence. They didn't, and the laundry came out beautifully. We've done a few loads since then, and they've all come out great. While we'll still use the laundromat for heavy-duty/large-volume items like our sheets/jeans/towels, it's SO nice to know that when this baby finally gets here, that I'll be able to keep up with her laundry needs without having to leave the apartment. Now I just need her to get here.

"Well, there's SOME good news" 2008-10-21
By Jami L. Davidson (San Antonio, TX United States)
The great news is that the shipping and purchasing was easy. The return was easy as well. The bad news is that we never got to use our washer because we got the E2 error and when the repairman came to try fixing it, he determined that the machine was not worth repairing due to extensive and non obvious cracking of the cabinet and top. According to him the transmission was also jammed, so even if we hadn't gotten the E2 error the machine would have failed.

 "My best purchase ever!" 2008-10-21
By C. Mok (Redondo Beach CA, USA)
I bought this washer back in August 2006 from Amazon for $280. I've been using this washer at least twice a week since I bought it. Surprisingly I haven't encountered any problems. This is a super reliable small washer.

I did perform one small hack on my washer. I rigged the washer (it has been a while but I think I used a small alligator clip) so it still runs when the lid is open. Again, everything has been running perfectly since I purchased it.

I highly recommend using high efficiency front loading detergent. They make less bubbles and works great with this small washer. A full load in this washer is usually equal to a medium load in a regular washer. So always use less detergent per wash with this washer (although I do have to run 2 loads usually).

My typical routine is to start the machine at normal wash and medium water level (default setting). When the washer starts to agitate (wash), I pour in the detergent and wait a few seconds for the the agitator to mix it up. I then add my clothes in and wait another few seconds for all the clothes to get mixed in. If the clothes doesn't move much, then the washer is probably overloaded. I then turn off the machine and back on again at high water level. This way, the detergent is evenly distributed and the clothes are more likely to get clean (if you didn't overload the washer).

I don't recommend doing your sheets with this small washer. However, pillow covers are okay. I don't think it does a decent job of washing anything bigger than a bath towel. I go to the laundromat once every month or two to wash the sheets.

The washer runoff into my sink has also been keeping my white porcelain sink whiter and cleaner. Thus saving me time of cleaning the sink.

I highly recommend a small spin dryer to complement this washer. I've had this addition for a year now and they both work synergistically together. I hang dry most of my laundry except when I'm in a hurry. The spin dryer cuts drying time in half easily. Most spin cycle on washers go about maybe 600 - 800 rpm. My little spin dryer spins at 3000rpm. On a small wash (2 bath towels) it can spin out over a quart of water (over 32fl oz) in less than 2 minutes. That is a significant amount of water to evaporate using normal dryers and hang time. This will shorten your drying time and also save your clothes from heat damage from the prolong drying times. The only catch is trying to balance the load in the small spin dryer. I find it easiest to load all the heavy cotton clothes on the bottom and the lighter synthetic clothes on the top. Then give it a good shove and compress everything tightly down. Thats has worked really well for me. [...]

"Great service, price; fast delivery" 2008-09-29

This machine was a little difficult to assemble exactly according to directions, but we were able to get it together and working well in a couple of hours. There seems to be a slight leak in back because we haven't been able to properly level our unit. Still, it works very well, runs quietly, arrived quickly (without any big dents!), and was less expensive than simpler models sold in local stores. We are very pleased.

In general speaking, it gives good performance.

One question, do I need to purchase maintenance plan? range from 54 - 200 for one to 3 years. that is not cheap for the 200 dollar product. I hope it can work for 3 years at least.

I bought this portable washer for my 19 Ft RV trailer, when I took it to florida last winter. I set it up to sit on a board across the back of the bathtub, very out of site and out of my way too... I use the bathroom sink with the quick spring hook up to fill it and drain it directly into the bathtub. I also purchased some white suction cup hooks and stuck them directly to the back of the machine to hold the drain hose in the proper place... as if the drainhose is drooping at all, the water drains out while filling it up. I think it does a super job!! I have had no problems with it whatsoever, and when I want to take a bath, it is easy enough to lift it out of my way... Having a washing mahine when I go R-ving is pretty kewl...indeed. I enjoy having more free time, while on vacation.....no laundrymats..for me anymore.

This was a baby shower gift from a friend. My son is now 17 months and it still works great. I absolutely love it. The only problem I have with it is my fault. I have to make sure the drain is anchored in the sink or it floods my kitchen. But it is better than you would expect. Perfect for the new parent in small apartment dwelling. I still am waiting to buy the dryer. A+

The washer capacity is not a problem if you do laundry everyday or every few days. Just remember it's not the type of weekly laundry with tons of clothing. It's a matter of design and habbit.

It's quiet and has different wash programs to fit your needs. Water hose is easy take on and off. You can really move it anywhere easily. Product quality is decent, though not luxurious or perfect in every detail. Plus, it's affordable.

The best deal of this washer is on Walmart with site to store shipping. Use Bing cash back to link to walmart. Target sells this on amazon, although it's a little more expensive.

 "Wonderful little washer" 2009-11-08
By S. Tautkus (Orlando)
I have owned this compact washer for 2 weeks. It was a snap to put together. The bottom pan is clearly marked 'this side out' and 'front' so I don't know why anyone would have any problem. It took me less than 5 minutes to get it set up. Then I washed 4 loads right in succession. It washed sweatshirts, socks and jeans with no problems. I bought this washer with the idea that I can take this in my RV and use it on the road. It is perfect for this. RV specific washers are very expensive and this washer is so light that I can carry it to move it to wash my laundry and put it back in storage out of the way. The only question is the longevity, if that is up to par this was a steal!!!

Ran across this little wonder by accident on line. Got mine used but looked like new with all the accessories (casters, u-hook for drain hose, faucet adapters) in a bag. Did a couple t-shirts, socks, underwear on medium load to test it out. Didn't expect much at all. What a pleasant surprise! The dirtiest of socks was near spotless, I expected wringing wet "drip dries", the shirts were barely damp. Fantastic performance for something this size. Was a tad noisier than I expected but quite tolerable and not annoying. This would be well worth the money, even though I got lucky in finding mine used.

 "Portable Washing Machine" 2009-09-17

I liked the idea of a washing machine that did not take up a lot of space and this one certainly doesn't.

The delivery time was excellent, but the machine arrived with a dent in the top hinge part. I went ahead and tried the machine and it still worked with no leaks and not a lot of noise, so I didn't bother with sending it back. The tub is small, but for my house, this too is fine (it forces me to not let the laundry pile up). I do wish it had an energy star rating.

Also, the connection hose did not fit on my kitchen sink faucet, I think it was more for a larger, maybe a basement tub/sink faucet, but Home Depot had the connection for less than $5, so I still came out good.

"Haier Portable Compact Washing Machine" 2009-12-21

We've been using it for a few weeks now and couldn't be happier. To me, the load size is the almost the same as a standard home washer. It is pretty quiet and even with the wheels on it, it doesn't shake & rattle. I like the TWO lint traps because between them, there is no paper mush left in the washer drum if someones pockets weren't emptied before being washed. This is perfect for people in apartments or if you maybe have a business where you need to keep things washed (dish towels, aprons, etc.)

It came damaged with a few dents.

Rear casters are not removable.

Other than that the washer works fine and very quiet.

I also can't find Y adapter at stores.

Washing Machine was received 6 days before expected delivery date.

UPS left machine outside all evening.

Box was undamaged but numerous dents found in front and side of machine when removed from 2 packing boxes.

Dents were made from inside of machine.

Have used machine about 20 times.

Works well.

 "EXCELLANT PRODUCT" 2009-04-22
By D. CLAYTON (COLUMBUS OHIO)
THIS WASHER HOLDS MORE THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD. ITS QUIET, WASHES EVERYTHING CLEAN, SPINS OUT 99% OF THE WATER. THE OTHER REVIEWER IS RIGHT ABOUT REMOVING THE BACK LEGS-ITS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE SO YOU CAN LEVEL THEM. HOWEVER I BOUGHT FURNITURE SLIDERS AND GAVE UP TRYING TO REMOVE THE LEGS-JUST ATTACHED THE SLIDERS AND SOLVED THE PROBLEM. I HIGHLY RECOMMENT THIS WASHER; FOR THE MONEY YOU CANT BEAT IT.

"Bigger & Better than I thought it would be!!" 2009-01-01
By Jennifer Rodriguez (San Ramon, CA United States)
I have 4 small children (living in an apartment) and going to the laundry facility to the laundry was impossible. I got the machine and the matching dryer and they both work great! It has definately made my life easier and the clothes are so much cleaner than before. I would highly recommend this product.
